How to apply for MRCOG Part-1?

1. At First check the RCOG website for the upcoming exam date, fees and make your plan for the examination.
MRCOG Part 1 exam: January 2025
Eligibility form submission deadline Friday 6 September 2024
Expression of interest closes Friday 20 September 2024
Booking window opens Tuesday 29 October 2024
Booking window closes Tuesday 17 December 2024

1. How to register?
👉 Click on Register

👉 Click on Register Now

👉 Filled with required information

👉 Check your mail and type your verification code and click on verify code.

👉 Then click on continue.

👉 Type your password following the password guidelines in red mark area then click on Create New Account

👉You will get confirmation for your registration and get a unique college number

Registration Completed!

2. How to complete Eligibility form?
Before you begin:
👉Check the deadline for Form fill up date.
👉If you have appeared in part 1 examination or already got eligibility confirmation you don’t need to do eligibility application again. In this regard you will fill up only Expression of Interest (EOI).
Processing time
👉Applications will be assessed after the eligibility close date, a minimum of 4 weeks is required to process applications.
👉Download the Eligibility Form by clicking the link and fill up with required information:

👉Read the eligibility form carefully, fill up all the required fields and Follow the instructions.
👉After fill up the eligibility form send it to this address: part1eligibility@rcog.org.uk
👉Along with Eligibility form attach your MBBS certificate (scan copy) to the email address.
👉 RCOG will confirm your Eligibility Form within 4 weeks.

3. How to complete Expression of Interest?

👉 For an opportunity to book into available spaces on the next MRCOG Part 1 exam, submit an Expression of Interest form, as outlined here.
👉 Important: First-time candidates can submit an Expression of Interest form before the outcome of their MRCOG eligibility application.
👉 However, eligibility approval is necessary for booking a place when the booking window opens.
👉 Candidates must submit a new Expression of Interest form for each exam opportunity. Previous submissions may not be guaranteed for consideration.

Candidates must meet the following requirements in order for their expression of interest to be considered.


Requirements
👉 First-time candidates can submit the Expression of interest form before the outcome of their MRCOG Part 1 Eligibility application. However, eligibility approval is necessary for booking a place when the booking window opens.
👉 Completing the form doesn't guarantee a place - eligible candidates get a chance when the booking window opens.
Processing time
👉 Eligible candidates will receive an email with exam booking instructions when the application window opens
👉 Then click on Start Application:

 Fill up the required fields with your information:

 RCOG account number that is provided by the registration time from RCOG.

👉 Tick  on the marked box and click on submit and you will get reply from RCOG.

👉You will get confirmation from RCOG with how to proceed the booking and payment procedures.

4. How to book centres?
Eligible candidates who have submitted an Expression of Interest form will receive an email when the application window opens. This email contains instructions on how to book an exam place at Pearson Vue test centres.

Here's what the booking process will involve:
1. Log in using your RCOG account email address and password.
2. You will be directed to the RCOG Exam Candidate Portal, where you can search and book available test centre spaces.
3. Note: the default search will show test centres closest to your registered address.
4. Spaces are limited and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability at listed test centres is not guaranteed when you log in.
Please follow these steps to book your seat:
👉Check your mail and click on RCOG Candidate Exam Portal

👉As a first-time user click on click here. No need to write in the cross marked area (×) 

👉Enter your email address by which you have created your RCOG account and click on the Reset Password.

👉You will receive an email to reset your password, if it’s not showing please check your spam/Junk folder from your email

👉Click on Here.

👉After clicking on the link in the mail you will be brought to a page to set your password. Your password must be at least 6 characters long with at least one punctuation character and one number. Type New password and Confirm new password then click on Set your Password

Once you have set a password and logged in you will be brought to the Welcome screen.

👉On the Welcome page your Testing Address is displayed; this is the current address you have entered in your RCOG online account. This address will be sent to the exam booking platform to support your search for a suitable test centre. Test centres closest to this location will be shown first. However, you can expand your search in the booking system by amending the location in the search bar when you are on the test centre search screen. You can book into any country location where there is availability and you are able to travel to.

👉From your Account Dashboard Click on Exam Booking marked in the left side of the screenshot.
👉Click on Book your Exam with Pearson VUE.

👉You will be redirected to the Dashboard of the Exam Booking system which is operated by Pearson VUE.

👉On the Dashboard click on the link of the pre-approved exam you are eligible to book a place. Please see examples screenshot below:

👉You will then be presented with RCOG Admission and Cancellation policies. Please read these carefully and click Accept to proceed.
👉 When you are ready to choose a test centre, tick the box beside it and then click Next. You can choose up to 3 centres at a time to check availability.

👉Once you have chosen a centre the date and time available should be displayed.

👉If there is no appointment available, it means your chosen centre is already full. The RCOG does not have exclusive access to Pearson VUE testing centres. Other programmes and exams may also be taking place at the same time in the same centre, severely limiting spaces available or making them fully booked.
👉The following messages will display if there is no availability.
👉If you have only chosen one centre and there is no availability, click on Previous.
👉You will see like this window and select your centre.

👉Once you have found an available test centre and selected the time slot, you will brought to the 'Cart' page where you can review your details.

👉If you want to change your test centre to another available one, you need to do this now by clicking on 'Change Appointment'. You will not be able to change this at a later date.
👉If you are happy with the details presented, click on 'Proceed to Checkout'
👉You will then be taken to the payment and billing page, please enter your payment and billing information and click 'Next' at the bottom of your screen to complete the booking.
👉Enter your card details and confirm

👉Once you have successfully completed payment you will be taken to a booking confirmation screen. An e-mail confirmation will also be sent to your registered email account, containing confirmation of the test centre you have booked and information regarding what you will need to bring on the day of the exam.

👉You can then return to the Pearson VUE dashboard.

👉To return to the RCOG Candidate Portal, click on the house icon on the left hand side of the page.
👉If you want to return to the Pearson VUE page, you must do so through the Exam Bookings link as detailed above. Do not click the back button as this will log you out of the portal.
👉And you are done.

Cancelling your Exam
👉Exams must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the exam date.
👉Candidates will receive a full refund of any cancelled exam appointments that have been made at least 48 hours prior to the exam. Please allow 5-10 days for a refund to be processed.
👉Candidates are unable to reschedule into another test centre, without first cancelling an existing booking.
To cancel a test centre booking please follow the steps below:
👉Click on Exam Bookings to go to Bookings in Progress. This will display the Date, Time and Location of your booked exam.
👉To cancel your exam, click on the 'Book your test centre with Pearson VUE' button
Important Notes:

1. Candidates forgot their RCOG log in /password --Fix it before Booking day [write it at your word file before booking]
2. Using same password for the exam portal-- don't do this :)
3. Multiple clicks for password resetting -don't do this :)
4. Bank account is not authorised for international transactions -Discuss this with your bank before booking day
5. Insufficient amount in the bank --deposit it before booking day
6. Incorrect bank details --[write it at your word file before booking ]--copy paste at booking day Poor website speed --refresh /have patience --keep trying
